PHILADELPHIA, PA — Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. (NYSE: AXTA) has named Dr. Delson Trindade an Axalta Fellow, the company’s highest recognition for scientists and engineers, in acknowledgment of his decades-long impact on coating technologies, technical leadership, and customer engagement.

Over nearly 40 years, Dr. Trindade has advanced innovations across Axalta’s businesses, including co-inventing the multi-layer “3-Wet” coating process widely used in the automotive industry, driving silanated clearcoat platforms for improved durability, developing formulation tools for electric vehicle applications, and contributing to more than 100 patent filings.
Beyond his technical achievements, he has served as a mentor and leader within Axalta’s Fellows Forum, reinforcing the company’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and market leadership.
Dr. Trindade began his career with Axalta in Brazil before taking on leadership roles in Germany, Argentina, Detroit, and now Philadelphia at the company’s Global Headquarters and Innovation Center. He holds a doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of São Paulo and an MBA in Technology & Innovation from Harvard University and the University of São Paulo.
