Augmentir Unveils AR Extension to Boost Industrial Workforce Training

Augmentir

HORSHAM, PAAugmentir has launched a new Augmented Reality (AR) extension designed to enhance training, onboarding, and task support for frontline industrial workers. The rollout adds to the company’s Connected Worker platform, which already supports major manufacturers worldwide.

The company, founded by veterans behind PTC’s Vuforia Studio, first experimented with AR tools in 2020. At the time, customers prioritized broader operational needs such as workflow execution, training management, and system integration. Renewed industry demand has now led Augmentir to reintroduce AR with a sharper focus.

“Industrial AR has seen many false starts,” said Russ Fadel, CEO and co-founder of Augmentir. “In reality, AR delivers its greatest impact in training, onboarding, and initial task execution. With Augmentir AR, we’re building on our AI-native foundation to deliver immersive guidance where and when it adds the most value.”

The new AR features are built to accelerate onboarding by immersing workers in real equipment and processes, provide just-in-time guidance for complex or infrequent tasks, and complement broader Connected Worker functions rather than replace them.

Augmentir’s tools are already used by companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Mondelez, Armstrong World Industries, and Hunter Industries. Reported results include an 82% reduction in new hire onboarding time, a 37% boost in productivity, and a 27% decrease in equipment downtime.

The AR extension integrates into Augmentir’s AI Agent Studio and Augie Industrial GenAI Suite, enabling manufacturers to transform training videos and procedures into interactive, AI-driven workflows. These AI agents dynamically optimize AR guidance, ensuring relevance and measurable value across operations.
