W. CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — ASTM International announced it has partnered with the British Standards Institution to make BSI standards available on its ASTM Compass platform, expanding access to international technical standards.
The integration adds BSI’s catalog of standards to ASTM’s proprietary database, in what the organizations described as one of the platform’s largest content expansions.
BSI standards, widely used across Europe, cover sectors including construction, information and communications technology, manufacturing, transport, energy and healthcare.
Common standards now available through ASTM Compass include BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001 and BS/ISO/IEC 27001.
ASTM said the addition is intended to help technical teams streamline design processes and support compliance with global regulatory requirements by providing centralized access to multiple standards systems.
Neil Musk, president of BSI Knowledge Solutions, said the partnership is aimed at improving access and workflow efficiency for users working across different standards frameworks.
“As two of the world’s leading standards bodies, this integration provides easier access, greater efficiency when cross-referencing workflows, and streamlined compliance management,” Musk said.
Stuart Radcliffe, vice president of sales and marketing at ASTM International, said the collaboration reflects overlap between the organizations’ subject areas, including construction, energy and sustainability.
“With this addition of BSI, our customers now have the opportunity to expand their access to internationally recognized standards in a single, unified environment,” Radcliffe said.
ASTM develops and publishes more than 12,000 standards used globally across a range of industries, according to the organization.
