PHILADELPHIA, PA — Ardent Credit Union joined forces with more than a dozen local credit unions and community leaders on Wednesday, July 9, to support Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization. The coordinated effort, held at Philabundance’s South Philadelphia Hunger Relief Center, resulted in a collective donation of $3,903 and over 56,000 pounds of non-perishable food items.
Ardent contributed $500 to the overall effort, underscoring its ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity across the region. “As a member-owned financial cooperative, we’re deeply committed to standing with our communities in times of need,” said Rob Werner, President and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “Supporting Philabundance’s critical mission is not just the right thing to do—it’s part of who we are. Together, we’re helping to strengthen families and neighborhoods across the region.”
Ardent’s Center City Market Manager, Latica Battle, joined other credit union representatives at the event, emphasizing the importance of collective action to combat hunger.
Philabundance serves more than 90,000 people each week through a network of over 350 social service agency partners across nine counties. The organization distributes millions of pounds of food each year to help address the rising need for hunger relief throughout the Delaware Valley.
Ardent Credit Union, recently recognized as a “Philly Favorite” by The Philadelphia Inquirer readers for the second consecutive year, continues to deepen its community ties through partnerships with organizations such as the YMCA and Villanova Athletics. Its participation in the Philabundance initiative further highlights Ardent’s dedication to supporting essential local causes and fostering stronger, healthier communities.
