Arcadia University to Launch Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity

Arcadia University

GLENSIDE, PA — Arcadia University will begin offering a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity in fall 2026 to address workforce demand for trained cybersecurity professionals, the university announced.

The program will be housed in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics and is designed to prepare students to secure digital systems and respond to cyber threats, according to Arcadia.

The curriculum will incorporate five industry certifications from CompTIA and ISC²: Security+, CySA+, Network+, A+, and preparation for the CISSP exam. The certifications will be offered in partnership with Core Education as part of a hybrid course sequence.

“Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field that demands both technical expertise and ethical clarity,” said Dr. Vitaly Ford, associate professor and director of computer science and cybersecurity programs. He said the program is structured to prepare graduates to enter the workforce with demonstrated technical skills and professional readiness.

Coursework will include network and systems security, threat detection and mitigation, and the legal and ethical aspects of cybersecurity. The program will also feature hands-on training, competitions and mentorship opportunities, according to the university.

Arcadia said students in the program will be able to participate in study abroad programs while remaining on track to graduate.

The university said graduates will leave with employer-recognized credentials, including Security+ and preparation for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or CISSP, certification.
