WILMINGTON, DE — The Apache Software Foundation announced that Apache HugeGraph has graduated to become a Top-Level Project, recognizing the open source graph platform’s maturity and community governance.
The foundation said the designation reflects HugeGraph’s development under Apache’s meritocratic and vendor-neutral model.
Apache HugeGraph is a graph database and analytics platform designed to support large-scale data storage, real-time querying and offline analysis. The project integrates with other Apache software projects, including Apache Flink, Apache Spark and Apache SeaTunnel.
According to the foundation, HugeGraph is used in applications such as security and social networking and supports integration with large language models to enable graph-based data processing for artificial intelligence workloads.
Jermy Li, chair of the Apache HugeGraph Project Management Committee, said the Top-Level Project status marks a milestone for the project and reflects its role in supporting graph-based data infrastructure.
The Apache Software Foundation oversees hundreds of open source projects and is headquartered in Wilmington.
