WARMINSTER, PA — Anthony & Sylvan Pools has appointed veteran executive John Owens as chief executive officer, a leadership change that comes as the iconic pool builder prepares to enter its 80th year in business.
The company announced that Owens will take over as CEO, while interim chief executive Alan Walker will move into the role of chief operations officer, providing continuity as the company advances its long-term growth strategy.

Owens brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across consumer, financial services, and home services companies, including Coca-Cola, Johnson and Johnson, ING DIRECT, Capital One, J.G. Wentworth, and ADT. He most recently served as chief revenue officer for Horizon Services LLC and has held senior roles including chief marketing officer, president, and chief executive officer.
Board Chairman Erik Waldin said the appointment positions the company for its next phase of expansion.

Waldin also credited Walker for guiding the company through the leadership transition.

Owens holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He lives in Villanova with his wife and family and is active in community and nonprofit initiatives, including youth sports and charitable organizations in the Philadelphia region.
Founded in 1946, Anthony & Sylvan Pools is one of the nation’s largest residential pool builders, and company leaders said the new leadership structure is designed to honor that legacy while positioning the business for sustained growth in the decades ahead.
