BENSALEM TWP, PA — Amtrak is set to begin months-long overhead bridge repairs that will close a key stretch of Haunted Lane in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, disrupting daily travel and forcing motorists onto busy regional detours starting Tuesday.
According to Amtrak, construction will begin Tuesday, February 17, and continue through Thursday, May 14, with weekday closures in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Haunted Lane will be closed between Marshall Lane and U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) during those hours, cutting off a frequently used local route for commuters and commercial traffic.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured along State Road, Route 132 (Street Road), and U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike), corridors already prone to congestion during daytime travel. Local access will be maintained, but officials warn that backups and delays are expected throughout the construction window.
All work is weather dependent, and conditions could shift quickly depending on progress and regional traffic patterns. Motorists are urged to allow additional travel time and remain alert for changing traffic conditions near the work zone.
