PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Alliance for Decision Education has appointed veteran education and technology executive David Samuelson as its next Executive Director, signaling a new phase of growth for the nonprofit as it advances its effort to make decision-making skills a standard part of K–12 learning.

Samuelson, a longtime advocate for the Alliance’s mission, brings more than 25 years of experience leading organizations in education technology, digital learning, and professional development. He previously served as CEO of ISACA, an international association for professionals in digital trust and cybersecurity, where he helped expand its global footprint and member engagement.

His involvement with the Alliance dates back over a decade through its Advisory Council, where he has supported efforts to integrate Decision Education into classrooms nationwide. Samuelson said his new role reflects both a professional and personal commitment to preparing students for a complex, fast-changing world.

“Helping young people strengthen their ability to think critically and make sound decisions is one of the most powerful ways to improve their long-term opportunities,” Samuelson said. “I’m excited to continue building momentum behind this movement and to ensure Decision Education becomes a lasting part of how we prepare the next generation.”

“David is a trusted leader whose long-standing commitment to Decision Education, combined with his extensive experience, makes him uniquely prepared to guide the Alliance forward,” said Annie Duke, co-founder of the Alliance for Decision Education. “His insight and dedication will be key to expanding our reach and bringing Decision Education to students across the country.”

The Alliance for Decision Education, based in the Philadelphia area, partners with educators, researchers, and policymakers to promote curricula that teach students how to think probabilistically, weigh trade-offs, and make more informed life choices—a mission gaining traction as schools emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the era of AI and rapid change.
