PHILADELPHIA, PA — Tech entrepreneur and philanthropist Jared Isaacman has pledged $30 million to three of Pennsylvania’s leading health systems, directing major investments toward pediatric care, emergency services, and long-term medical innovation across the Commonwealth.
The commitment will support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and The Guthrie Clinic, reinforcing care delivery from densely populated suburban corridors to rural communities in north-central Pennsylvania. The funds are intended to expand access, modernize facilities, and strengthen specialized services for children and families statewide.
Isaacman said the decision reflects both personal ties to Pennsylvania and firsthand experience with the impact of accessible, high-quality medical care. He said strong hospitals and pediatric services can fundamentally change the trajectory of a family’s life.
At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the gift will advance pediatric specialty care in southeastern Pennsylvania through the naming of the existing Specialty Care and Surgery Center in the Brandywine Valley. The contribution will support growth and renovation of the facility, with completion projected for late 2026. Hospital leaders said the expansion will help extend CHOP’s reach to families in Delaware and Chester counties, allowing more children to receive complex care closer to home.
UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation will use Isaacman’s contribution to expand the UPMC Children’s Heart Institute, one of the nation’s leading pediatric heart and heart-surgery programs. Plans call for a new, state-of-the-art facility that consolidates services into a single location, creating a more seamless continuum of care supported by dedicated specialty teams and advanced medical technology. Foundation officials said the expansion will improve access and integration for children in Pennsylvania and beyond.
In north-central Pennsylvania, Isaacman’s support of The Guthrie Clinic will focus on emergency services, bolstering care in rural and underserved areas. Guthrie leaders said the funding will enhance facilities, support additional staffing, and improve security, strengthening the system’s ability to serve as a critical safety net for patients across the region.
Hospital executives across all three systems described the gift as transformational, noting that philanthropic investments play a critical role in expanding capacity, advancing innovation, and ensuring equitable access to care regardless of geography.
The $30 million commitment underscores Isaacman’s broader philanthropic focus on strengthening essential institutions and advancing healthcare innovation, with a particular emphasis on children’s health and community well-being across Pennsylvania.
