26Health Moves Pharmacy In-House to Boost Access and 340B Efficiency

SHARON HILL, PA — Community health provider 26Health plans to open its first entity-owned pharmacy in Orlando, a move aimed at improving patient access, strengthening regulatory compliance, and capturing efficiencies under the federal 340B drug pricing program.

The pharmacy will be launched through an expanded partnership with NuvemRx, a technology-enabled pharmacy services company that supports community health organizations. Under the agreement, NuvemRx will help stand up and operate 26Health Pharmacy Orlando, managing day-to-day pharmacy operations while allowing 26Health to focus on patient care.

Entity-owned pharmacies have become an increasingly attractive option for health centers seeking tighter coordination of care and greater financial control, but they also come with operational and regulatory complexity. By outsourcing pharmacy operations to NuvemRx, 26Health aims to streamline compliance, improve efficiency, and reinvest savings generated through the 340B program into additional patient services.

26Health President and Chief Executive Officer Latrice Stewart said bringing pharmacy services in-house is both a clinical and community investment. She said consolidating services makes it easier for patients to access medications and care in one place, while supporting a more integrated and patient-centered care model.

The expansion aligns with 26Health’s role as a designated sexually transmitted infection testing, treatment, and prevention facility serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable populations. By adding an on-site pharmacy, the organization said it can strengthen access to primary care, behavioral health services, and HIV treatment and prevention within a single setting.

NuvemRx Chief Executive Officer Scott Seidelmann said STI clinics play a critical role in the nation’s healthcare safety net, and that in-house pharmacies can significantly improve continuity of care. He said the partnership with 26Health reflects a broader effort to help community providers expand services while navigating the operational demands of pharmacy management.

The Orlando pharmacy will mark 26Health’s first entity-owned pharmacy and represents a strategic step as health centers look to integrate services, manage costs, and reinvest resources into communities they serve.
