HERSHEY, PA — Pennsylvania will host a five-city series of free concerts from late May through June as part of the state’s lead-up to the nation’s 250th anniversary, with major national acts scheduled to perform across the Commonwealth.

  • Five free concerts will be held across Pennsylvania from May 23 through June 27.
  • Tickets are required but free, with registration available online.

Governor Josh Shapiro joined America250PA on Thursday to announce the full lineup for the Commonwealth Concert Series, a statewide initiative funded through the 2025–26 state budget to mark the upcoming semiquincentennial — the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The concert series will feature nationally recognized artists and is designed to bring residents together across multiple regions of the state. Stops include State College, Erie, Hershey, Wilkes-Barre, and Pittsburgh, with performances scheduled from Memorial Day weekend through the end of June.

The events are part of America250PA, the state commission established in 2018 to coordinate Pennsylvania’s role in commemorating the nation’s founding and its historical contributions.

Purpose of the Series

Organizers said the concerts are intended to reflect the state’s regional diversity and shared history, bringing together communities through music and public events.

“Our role in the founding of this nation is unmatched,” said Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA. “The Commonwealth Concert Series honors that legacy by bringing people together in communities across Pennsylvania.”
