HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Secretary Laurel Harry signed a notice Monday setting March 24, 2026, as the execution date for Harvey M. Robinson, who was sentenced to death in Lehigh County for three murders committed in the early 1990s.
The Department of Corrections said the notice was issued under state law, which allows the secretary to set an execution date if the governor does not sign a warrant within a specified period.
Robinson was 19 at the time he was sentenced to death after being convicted in Lehigh County of three counts of first-degree murder, along with rape and multiple burglary charges.
Prosecutors argued at trial that Robinson posed a future danger if released. During sentencing, a juror asked whether a life sentence meant no possibility of parole. The judge instructed the jury that a life sentence meant no parole.
The killings occurred between 1992 and 1993. Authorities said Robinson killed two women and a 15-year-old girl and raped two other victims before his arrest in July 1993.
Robinson was apprehended after seeking medical treatment for an injury while allegedly attempting another attack, according to court records.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court affirmed his conviction and death sentence. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit later upheld the denial of federal habeas corpus relief.
Robinson remains on death row in Pennsylvania. His execution is scheduled for March 24 unless action is taken by the governor before that date.
For Pennsylvania residents, including those in Lehigh County where the crimes occurred, the notice marks a procedural step in one of the state’s long-running capital cases.
