HARRISBURG, PA — Rite Aid customers are being urged to act quickly to redeem gift cards, rewards points, and bonus cash following the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing earlier this month. Attorney General Dave Sunday advised consumers that all gift cards, coupons, and rewards must be used by June 6, 2025, as they will become invalid beyond that date.
Additionally, the retailer will stop processing all returns and exchanges starting June 4, 2025.
“I am encouraging Rite Aid customers to make returns and exchanges, and redeem gift cards and rewards points as soon as possible,” said Attorney General Sunday. “These deadlines are approaching fast, and accrued points and gift card balances will soon become valueless.”
Rite Aid, LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 5, 2025, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. The court quickly established these deadlines, stating that gift cards must be redeemed either online or at store locations by June 6. After this date, any remaining balances on cards will have no value.
Customers seeking refunds or exchanges should be aware that all such transactions remain subject to Rite Aid’s existing return and exchange policies.
Consumers who have issues redeeming Rite Aid points, coupons, gift cards, or returning merchandise can file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection online or call the Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-441-2555.
