WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has introduced a new funding opportunity under its Made in America Manufacturing Initiative, designed to revitalize the U.S. industrial base, generate jobs, and enhance the nation’s economic strength and security.
The newly announced Manufacturing in America Grant Initiative will provide up to $1.1 million in funding to three qualified applicants. The grants aim to equip small manufacturers in critical industries such as timber, energy, aluminum, and steel with tools, training, and technical assistance as part of the SBA’s Empower to Grow (E2G) Program. The E2G Program offers small businesses free business courses, hands-on training, and personalized consulting to foster growth, streamline operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance competitiveness in government contracting.
SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler remarked, “The SBA is investing in small manufacturers across the country – arming them with the training and tools to dominate critical industries and drive our industrial comeback. With this new grant, the agency will accelerate the return of American supply chains, production power, and economic independence. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are rebuilding the backbone of American industry – and with it, the jobs and communities that are at the heart of our nation.”
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit entity, including but not limited to small businesses, trade or professional associations, or educational institutions.
- Demonstrate continuous operation for the past three years.
- Possess substantial experience in providing technical assistance, training, or tools to regional or national small manufacturing businesses.
- Prove the capability to offer hands-on, manufacturing-specific training and technical assistance to small businesses.
Applications must be submitted electronically via Grants.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. EDT on May 12. Additionally, the SBA will host a public webinar on Thursday, May 8, from 2–3:30 p.m. EDT to provide further details about the grant opportunities. Registration for the webinar is required.
Advancing America’s Industrial Revival
The Manufacturing in America Grant Initiative forms part of a broader effort to rejuvenate American manufacturing and rebuild supply chains critical to national interests. By enhancing access to resources and expertise, the program aims to empower small manufacturers to innovate, grow, and remain competitive in a dynamic global market.
This initiative also aligns with wider objectives to bolster communities economically and create sustainable job opportunities, particularly in industries foundational to the nation’s economic infrastructure.
With applications open and key dates fast approaching, the SBA’s new effort underscores its commitment to strengthening the industrial backbone of America. The program signals a step forward for small manufacturers looking to thrive in sectors critical to the nation’s economic and security needs, while fostering robust domestic growth.
