Department of Veterans Affairs information technology

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced a significant milestone for its Health and Benefits mobile app, which has now been downloaded over 3 million times since its launch in 2021. Designed to provide Veterans with convenient, on-the-go access to essential services and information, the app currently boasts 1.4 million active users.

“VA’s Health and Benefits app gives Veterans fast and convenient access to a host of important information, from appointments to prescriptions and benefits,” said Eddie Pool, VA Acting Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology and Acting Chief Information Officer. “We encourage all VA-enrolled Veterans to stay connected and informed by downloading the app.”

Streamlined Access to VA Services

The Health and Benefits app empowers Veterans to manage various aspects of their healthcare and benefits directly from their smartphones. Offering a broad range of features, the app enables users to:

  • Refill and track VA prescriptions.
  • Review medical appointments.
  • Check the status of claims and appeals.
  • Submit additional evidence for claims and appeals.
  • View VA payment and direct deposit details.
  • Locate the nearest VA facilities.
  • Access the Veterans Crisis Line.
  • Display proof of Veteran status.

This functionality ensures that Veterans can stay informed and connected, reducing the need for in-person visits and simplifying processes that are crucial to their well-being.
