WASHINGTON, D.C. — Workers who believe they have faced religious discrimination on the job now have a new federal resource to seek guidance, as the U.S. Department of Labor launches an online hub focused on workplace religious rights and support for faith-based organizations.

What This Means for You

  • Workers can access federal guidance on reporting religious discrimination
  • Faith-based groups can find information on applying for federal grants
  • The site includes tools to understand state-level legal protections

The Department of Labor announced the launch of its Center for Faith website, created in response to a presidential directive establishing faith-focused offices across federal agencies.

The website is designed to provide information on workplace protections, funding opportunities, and benefits for faith-based organizations.

What the Website Offers

The new platform includes several tools aimed at both individuals and organizations.

Among them:

  • An interactive map outlining religious discrimination protections in each state and identifying the relevant enforcement agencies
  • A guide to help faith-based organizations navigate the federal grant application process
  • Information on retirement benefits available to employees of faith-based organizations

Religious discrimination in the workplace refers to treating an employee unfairly because of their religious beliefs or practices, which is prohibited under federal law.

Support for Workers and Organizations

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer said the initiative is intended to help workers understand their rights and provide organizations with clearer access to federal programs.

“Americans should not face discrimination in the workplace because of their religion,” Chavez-DeRemer said. “Our new Center for Faith website offers helpful guidance for American workers and faith organizations interested in competing for grants.”

The department said the site also includes contact information and policy materials addressing various forms of religious discrimination, including anti-Semitism and bias against Christians.

Changes to Federal Grant Access

Officials said the initiative builds on recent updates to federal funding announcements that explicitly encourage faith-based organizations to apply for discretionary grants—funding programs awarded at the agency’s discretion.

The goal is to ensure that faith-based groups are aware of and able to compete for available federal resources.

Where to Learn More

The Center for Faith website is available at https://www.dol.gov/faith and includes additional information on workplace rights, grant opportunities, and federal policies related to religious freedom.
