FTC Sends $10.9 Million in Refunds to Credit Repair Customers

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Trade Commission is distributing more than $10.9 million in refunds to consumers harmed by a credit repair operation that operated under multiple names, including Financial Education Services, the agency announced.

The payments follow a 2022 lawsuit in which the FTC alleged the company misled consumers with promises of improving credit scores and recruited participants into a pyramid-style scheme.

The agency said it secured settlements in 2024 with the company and its operators, requiring them to stop the practices and provide funds for consumer restitution.

More than 443,000 affected customers will receive checks, which must be cashed within 90 days, according to the FTC.

The operation was accused of targeting individuals with low credit scores, charging fees while encouraging them to sell the same services to others.

Consumers with questions about the payments can contact the refund administrator, Analytics, at 833-699-7995 or by email at FES@refundadministrator.com.

The FTC said it does not require consumers to pay money or provide account information to receive a refund.
