WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced updated fees for telemarketers seeking access to the National Do Not Call (DNC) Registry for Fiscal Year 2026, which begins October 1, 2025.

Under federal law, all telemarketers targeting consumers in the United States must download numbers from the DNC Registry to avoid calling individuals who have opted out of receiving telemarketing calls. While the first five area codes are available at no cost, organizations such as charities and political callers that are exempt from the DNC rules may continue to obtain the entire list free of charge.

New Fee Structure for FY 2026

The FTC announced the following changes to access fees:

  • $82 per area code — an increase of $2 from FY 2025.
  • $22,626 maximum annual charge for accessing all area codes nationwide — up from $22,038 last year.
  • $41 per area code for half-year access — an increase of $1 over FY 2025.

Telemarketers are required to renew their subscriptions annually to maintain compliance with DNC regulations.

Implementation Timeline and Correction

The new fees take effect on October 1, 2025, marking the start of FY 2026. The FTC noted that the effective date in the Federal Register notice incorrectly listed the wrong year and confirmed that the notice will be corrected in the coming days.
