MALVERN, PA — Judge Mackenzie Smith, who is running for a full term on the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, has received the endorsement of the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No. 11.

Strong Backing from Law Enforcement

The endorsement was finalized on August 20, when members of Lodge No. 11, which represents about 1,000 active and retired law enforcement officers across Chester County, voted in support of Smith.

“Throughout her career, Judge Mackenzie Smith has demonstrated fairness, integrity, and compassion. The law enforcement community holds Judge Mackenzie Smith in high esteem,” said Bob McCarron, president of the Chester County FOP.

Smith expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “I’m grateful and honored to receive this endorsement from our local police officers. Like me, they all took an oath to uphold our Constitution and to serve the public without fear or favor, and I look forward to pursuing our shared commitment to the rule of law for many years to come.”

Appointment and Upcoming Election

Earlier in 2025, Governor Josh Shapiro appointed Smith to the Court of Common Pleas to fill a vacancy, a move later confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate. Her current appointment runs through the end of this year.

The Court of Common Pleas serves as Pennsylvania’s trial court system, handling major criminal and civil cases. Judges are elected to 10-year terms and may later seek retention by voters.

Smith will appear on the ballot in the November 4 general election as she seeks to secure a full term on the bench.
