PHILADELPHIA, PA — Penn Medicine, in collaboration with the Young Chances Foundation, will host The Huddle: A Community Conversation on Men’s Mental Health on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Audrenied High School Auditorium.

The event will bring together community leaders, professional athletes, health specialists, and advocates to discuss stigma, resilience, and the importance of building supportive networks for men.

Special guest panelists include Philadelphia 76ers legend Julius Erving, former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook, Penn Medicine trauma recovery specialist Rodney Babb, Young Chances Foundation founder Tyrique Glasgow, and My Brother’s Keeper Collective founder Ihsan Hines.

“Our foundation has always believed in creating platforms for honest conversations,” said Glasgow. “Mental health is too often overlooked, especially for men in our communities. By partnering with Penn Medicine and bringing voices like Julius Erving and Brian Westbrook to the table, we hope to break barriers, reduce stigma, and show that healing begins with connection.”

Founded in South Philadelphia, the Young Chances Foundation focuses on empowering youth and families through education, mentorship, and community development. The nonprofit provides safe spaces, programs, and resources aimed at reducing violence and strengthening neighborhoods.

The event is also supported by community and corporate partners. “Sports have always been a unifying force, but this event shows that it can also be a healing force,” said Justin Brown, CEO of JB Sports Ventures. “Men’s mental health deserves the same attention and support as physical health, and JB Sports Ventures is proud to stand behind initiatives that uplift and empower our communities.”

The event is free and open to the public. RSVPs can be made at bit.ly/461Ghsa. Audrenied High School Auditorium is located at 3301 Tasker Street in Philadelphia.
