HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania House of Representatives on Monday swore in two new members, Reps. Jen Mazzocco of Allegheny County and Ana Tiburcio of Lehigh County, following their victories in February special elections.

Dauphin County Common Pleas Judge La Tasha C. Williams administered the oath of office during a ceremony at the state Capitol, according to House leadership.

Mazzocco represents the 42nd District, which includes Baldwin, Mount Lebanon, Castle Shannon, Dormont and portions of Upper St. Clair.

Tiburcio represents the 22nd District, which includes parts of Allentown and Salisbury.

Speaker Joanna McClinton said the addition of the two lawmakers brings the total number of women serving in the House to 65.

“New members always bring fresh ideas and energy to the state House,” McClinton said. “Representatives Tiburcio and Mazzocco are proven leaders who will draw on their years of experience to inform their work.”

McClinton said the milestone comes during Women’s History Month and reflects continued changes in the makeup of the chamber.

The House currently has 201 members seated, with two additional members expected to be sworn in following special elections held March 17.
