VALLEY FORGE, PA — Vanguard has secured the No. 2 position among 18 retirement plan providers in the J.D. Power 2025 Retirement Plan Digital Experience Study, underscoring the firm’s progress in enhancing the digital tools available to workplace retirement savers.
The company earned an overall satisfaction score of 717, outpacing the industry average by 27 points. The recognition highlights Vanguard’s efforts to expand personalization, streamline usability, and integrate financial wellness features across its digital platforms.

Over the past year, Vanguard introduced a series of updates aimed at simplifying and enriching participant engagement. Key enhancements included:
- A mobile-native combined view of personal investment and retirement accounts, with quick access to balances, contributions, and performance data.
- A redesigned dashboard with more information placed prominently on the home screen.
- Streamlined navigation to enable one-click access to account details.
- Behavioral finance-driven nudges tailored to participants’ financial stage and real-time activity.
- Expanded financial wellness tools, including an upgraded retirement readiness feature offering deeper personalization.
The improvements have resonated strongly with participants, with 85 percent rating the digital experience four or five out of five.

The J.D. Power study, conducted between May and June 2025, surveyed more than 7,000 retirement plan participants. Rankings were based on four key dimensions: design, system performance, tools and capabilities, and information and content.
Vanguard’s strong showing reflects the firm’s commitment to marrying user-focused design with financial wellness, as digital platforms become increasingly central to workplace retirement planning.
