VALLEY FORGE, PA — Vanguard has introduced the Vanguard High-Yield Active ETF (VGHY), an actively managed fixed income fund designed to provide investors with diversified exposure to high-yield corporate bonds. The ETF is managed by Vanguard Fixed Income Group, the firm’s dedicated credit research and trading team.
“The addition of VGHY to Vanguard’s lineup exemplifies our decades-long commitment to disciplined credit investing,” said Michael Chang, Head of High-Yield Portfolio Management at Vanguard. “This ETF is powered by a deeply integrated team of credit analysts, traders, and risk specialists who collaborate daily to uncover value and manage risk across the high-yield landscape. Our goal is to deliver an actively managed solution that adapts dynamically to market conditions with precision and purpose to outperform its benchmark and peers.”
The fund spans the full high-yield credit spectrum and retains flexibility to invest in complementary sectors such as leveraged loans and investment-grade corporate bonds. With an estimated expense ratio of 0.22%, well below the category average of 0.59%, VGHY reflects Vanguard’s broader strategy of offering low-cost, high-quality investment solutions.
The launch underscores the firm’s deepening commitment to active fixed income management. Vanguard Fixed Income Group has spent more than 40 years refining its approach through rigorous security selection, proprietary research, and robust risk management. Over the past decade, the company has expanded its suite of actively managed bond ETFs to nine funds across multiple sectors, catering to investor demand for professional oversight in increasingly complex markets.
Today, Vanguard oversees more than $1.1 trillion in active fixed income assets, with strategies that cover global corporate bonds, emerging markets, structured products, municipal securities, and money markets. The launch of VGHY builds on this foundation, equipping investors with another tool for generating income while managing credit risk in a dynamic market environment.
