TekniPlex Brings High-Risk MedTech, Sustainable Packaging to MD&M West

Tekni-Plex

WAYNE, PA — TekniPlex Healthcare will put its most advanced interventional, implantable, and medical packaging technologies on display next month as it heads to MD&M West 2026 in Anaheim, California, positioning itself as a full-spectrum partner for device makers navigating increasingly complex clinical and regulatory demands.

The company said it will showcase its capabilities February 3–5 at booth 2801, spotlighting its MedTech Solutions segment and its role as a contract development and manufacturing organization for original equipment manufacturers developing Class II and Class III medical devices.

TekniPlex said its vertically integrated CDMO model supports programs from early design for manufacturability through pilot and full-scale cleanroom assembly, with an emphasis on precision engineering, regulatory alignment, and performance in high-risk clinical applications.

Company executives said interventional and implantable devices require close coordination between materials, components, and assemblies to ensure reliable performance inside the human body. TekniPlex plans to demonstrate how its materials science expertise and cleanroom manufacturing capabilities help OEMs reduce development risk, streamline supply chains, and accelerate time to market.

The company’s integrated offerings include multilayer shaft designs, braid- and coil-reinforced constructions, molded and bonded hubs, marker band integration, and complex implant subassemblies. By delivering finished or near-finished delivery systems, TekniPlex said it helps customers maintain tight tolerances for torque response, trackability, and long-term durability while simplifying supplier networks.

Alongside device manufacturing, TekniPlex will highlight innovations from its Barrier Protection Systems segment focused on medical device packaging performance and sustainability. Among them is TekniMD PX, a recyclable material compatible with the polyester No. 1 stream and designed as an alternative to PETG for thermoformed medical trays. The company said the material allows manufacturers to pursue sustainability targets without sacrificing package integrity or manufacturing efficiency.

The exhibition will also feature coating and converting technologies from TekniPlex’s recently opened facility in Madison, Wisconsin, including coated Tyvek and reinforced paper solutions. The site includes in-line slitting and eight-color flexographic printing using near-zero-waste technology.

TekniPlex said the combined focus of its MedTech Solutions and Barrier Protection Systems segments reflects a broader strategy centered on sustainability-driven materials science, responsible material selection, and global manufacturing models that support dual sourcing and supply chain resilience.

At MD&M West, the company said attendees will see how TekniPlex supports interventional and implant programs from design through cleanroom assembly, reduces OEM risk through integrated manufacturing and materials capabilities, and advances sustainable medical device packaging through recyclable materials and advanced production technologies.
