EXTON, PA — Bentley Systems and EARTHBRAIN Co., Ltd. have launched a new strategic partnership aimed at accelerating digital transformation across the construction sector by integrating advanced geospatial visualization and AI-powered digital twin technology into a unified workflow.
The collaboration expands on a relationship first formed in 2019 between Komatsu and Cesium, the geospatial visualization platform acquired by Bentley in 2024. Cesium’s technology already powers key elements of EARTHBRAIN’s Smart Construction product suite, which supports real-time visualization and coordination on construction sites.
Under the new partnership, Smart Construction will incorporate Bentley’s open digital twin applications to connect design, pre-construction and earthwork operations in a single, flexible environment. Executives say the goal is to deliver a continuous digital workflow that strengthens jobsite safety, improves productivity and enhances sustainability — areas where construction firms worldwide are under increasing pressure to modernize.
The enhanced Smart Construction capabilities will launch first in Japan, with plans for broader global expansion as demand grows for integrated digital infrastructure tools.
EARTHBRAIN President Akinori Onodera said the agreement represents a milestone in pushing digital innovation from Japan to international markets. He emphasized the opportunity to merge global expertise to build safer and more sustainable infrastructure.
Bentley Systems Chief Operating Officer James Lee said the collaboration aligns with the company’s long-term vision of open, connected engineering solutions. By combining EARTHBRAIN’s Smart Construction leadership with Bentley’s digital twin technology, he said, the partners aim to advance a more efficient and data-driven era of construction management.
