Sklar Corporation Donates Largest-Ever Medical Supply Shipment to Project AnimalAid

Project AnimalAid

WEST CHESTER, PA — Sklar Corporation has made its largest gifts-in-kind donation to date to Project AnimalAid, providing 17 pallets of surgical instruments to the Boulder, Colorado–based nonprofit. The contribution is set to aid veterinary teams and animal welfare organizations across the United States and in underserved regions worldwide.

The donation includes a range of stainless-steel surgical and diagnostic tools—forceps, needle holders, scissors, scalpels, retractors, towel clamps, and wound repair kits—designed for long-term use through sterilization. These supplies will support spay/neuter programs, ongoing veterinary care, and emergency services for Project AnimalAid’s 125 nonprofit partners.

“This donation from Sklar Corporation is our most valuable donation to date and it will have a long-lasting impact on animal health,” said Meghan Curtis, executive director of Project AnimalAid. She noted that the instruments will reach veterinarians and rescuers “doing lifesaving work, often with minimal resources, in hard-to-reach areas,” while calling on the public for monetary donations to ensure swift distribution.

Project AnimalAid emphasizes both the health and environmental benefits of its mission. All donated medical supplies were originally destined for disposal but have been redirected to save animals’ lives. Since its founding, the organization has diverted over 50 tons of equipment from landfills and incinerators.

“Community outreach has always been at the heart of Sklar Corporation,” said Mark Gordon, the company’s president. “By donating quality surgical instruments and supplies to nonprofits improving animal health around the world, we extend our mission beyond hospitals and clinics and into the global community. It’s a meaningful way for us to reduce waste, promote sustainability and help those doing vital work where it’s needed most.”

Project AnimalAid works with partners across Latin America, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the U.S., ensuring veterinary supplies reach communities with limited or no access to such resources. Sklar’s donation is expected to have a multi-year impact on animal care in these regions.
