TELA Bio Adds Veteran MedTech Executive Bill Plovanic to Board of Directors

MALVERN, PATELA Bio, Inc. (NASDAQ: TELA) announced the appointment of William “Bill” Plovanic, CFA, to its Board of Directors, bringing more than 25 years of experience in capital markets, corporate strategy, and medical device operations to the company.

Plovanic currently serves as Managing Director of Healthcare Equity Research at Canaccord Genuity, where he provides research and strategic insights into the medical technology sector. He previously held multiple C-suite and board positions at Obalon Therapeutics, a publicly traded medical device firm, from 2016 to 2021, giving him firsthand experience in corporate strategy, product commercialization, and public company leadership.

Before his tenure at Obalon, Plovanic served in senior equity research roles at First Albany and Canaccord Genuity, where he focused on the medical technology and life sciences industries. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bradley University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
