MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) recently introduced four new 100-volt Gen 2 Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifier modules, targeting industrial power systems where efficiency gains and reduced conduction losses are increasingly critical.
The new devices, housed in a compact and fully insulated SOT-227 package, deliver forward voltage drops as low as 0.83 volts, positioning them as drop-in replacements for competing solutions while boosting efficiency in demanding industrial applications, the company said .
The latest additions to Vishay’s semiconductor portfolio include three dual-diode parallel configurations — rated at 100 amps, 200 amps, and 400 amps — and a 150-amp single-phase bridge module. All are designed for 100-volt operation and optimized for power conversion environments where minimizing energy loss is a priority.
Vishay said the modules combine ultra-low forward voltage drop with negligible reverse recovery charge and high-temperature operation up to 150 degrees Celsius, making them suitable for high-frequency converters and power supplies used in welding equipment, industrial switch-mode power supplies, telecommunications infrastructure, and large battery systems. The devices are also aimed at 48-volt battery-powered light vehicles and other applications requiring robust blocking diodes.
The company said the industry-standard SOT-227 form factor allows the modules to be deployed as direct replacements, enabling system designers to improve performance without redesigning existing layouts. All four devices are RoHS-compliant and UL approved.
Samples and production quantities are available immediately, with standard lead times of 18 weeks, Vishay said.
