MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has expanded its Gen 7 platform of 1200 V FRED Pt® Hyperfast rectifiers with four new devices in the eSMP® series SlimSMA HV (DO-221AC) package, designed to enhance efficiency and reliability in industrial and automotive applications.
The new 1 A and 2 A rectifiers — VS-E7JX0112-M3, VS-E7JX0212-M3, and the AEC-Q101 qualified VS-E7JX0112HM3 and VS-E7JX0212HM3 — combine fast recovery times down to 45 ns, a reverse recovery charge of just 105 nC typical, and a forward voltage drop as low as 1.45 V. The devices also deliver low junction capacitance of 2.5 pF, helping reduce switching losses and boost system efficiency.
With a compact 2.6 mm by 5.2 mm footprint and ultra-low 0.95 mm profile, the SlimSMA HV package offers significant size advantages compared to standard SMA designs while maintaining a 3.2 mm creepage distance. The rectifiers are built to meet IEC 60664-1 standards, reducing component counts and overall BOM costs.
Target applications include flyback auxiliary power supplies, high-frequency rectifiers for bootstrap driver functionality, and desaturation protection for IGBTs and high-voltage Si/SiC MOSFETs. They are expected to see adoption in industrial drives, tools, on-board EV chargers and motors, renewable energy systems, and LED SEPIC circuitry.
Featuring a planar structure and platinum-doped lifetime control, the devices ensure high robustness while minimizing power dissipation. RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, the rectifiers support operation up to +175 °C and carry a Moisture Sensitivity Level 1 rating.
Vishay said the additions extend its leadership in power electronics by delivering high-efficiency, compact solutions optimized for next-generation energy, automotive, and industrial systems.
