MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has introduced the Vishay Sfernice TSM41, a new series of industrial-grade, multi-turn, surface-mount cermet trimmers built for space-constrained designs operating in demanding conditions.
The TSM41 devices feature a compact 4 mm × 4 mm footprint, operate across a -55 °C to +140 °C temperature range, and carry an IP67 seal for protection against dust and moisture. Vishay says the parts deliver a 42% smaller case size versus prior generations, freeing board space and improving package density for designers targeting tight layouts.
Engineered for precise calibration, the series supports a wide 10 Ω to 1 MΩ resistance range and offers faster setting-to-time ratios than single-turn trimmers. Rated at 0.25 W at +85 °C, the components come in top and side adjustment styles to suit different mechanical constraints and serviceability needs.
The trimmers mount directly to the PCB to support automated assembly and in-line setting, enabling placement on both sides of the board and withstanding standard wash processes. Vishay positions the TSM41 for reliability-critical applications such as welding equipment, power tools, smoke detectors, and HVAC systems, where durability and fine tuning are essential.
