WAYNE, PA — TekniPlex Consumer Products will spotlight a sweeping slate of new protein tray and egg carton innovations at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) 2026, signaling an aggressive push to redefine performance, sustainability, and efficiency in food packaging.

The company said it will debut its newly launched TekniTray™ portfolio and expanded fiber-based and recyclable egg carton solutions during the Jan. 27–29 event in Atlanta, where it will exhibit at Booth B36029.

TekniTray™ consolidates TekniPlex’s full range of protein tray technologies into a single branded platform, spanning materials from traditional polystyrene to high-barrier and sustainability-focused alternatives. The portfolio is designed to serve meat, poultry, and fresh protein applications, giving processors and brand owners greater flexibility to balance shelf life, product protection, operational efficiency, and environmental goals.

“Our TekniTray™ reflects TekniPlex’s commitment to applying materials science to solve real-world challenges in protein packaging,” said Eldon Schaffer, chief executive officer of TekniPlex Consumer Products. “By offering a broad range of tray materials and performance options, we help customers protect products, optimize operations, and support sustainability goals.”

The TekniTray™ lineup includes high-performance polystyrene trays for protein processors, lightweight retail-focused designs, recyclable polypropylene options aligned with sustainability initiatives, rigid PET trays engineered for durability and shelf appeal, and high-barrier formats for modified atmosphere packaging. The company also previewed TekniTray™ BioAir, a compostable, biobased tray expected to launch soon.

Alongside protein packaging, TekniPlex will highlight its expanding egg carton portfolio, featuring recycled fiber cartons and recyclable plastic formats. Its Fiber ProPlus™ and Fiber ProPlus™ HD cartons use proprietary dried-in-mold technology to deliver higher density and improved resistance to humidity—reducing breakage, protecting eggs in challenging conditions, and minimizing retail losses.

The company underscored its long-term investment in fiber-based packaging with the recent opening of a 200,000-square-foot molded fiber manufacturing facility in Van Wert, Ohio, its eighth such plant, aimed at boosting capacity and strengthening supply reliability.

TekniPlex will also preview lighter-weight PET bi-fold egg cartons made from post-consumer recycled material, slated for market introduction in the second quarter of 2026. The new design is more than 15% lighter than traditional tri-fold cartons while maintaining strength and clarity.

Company executives said the innovations reflect growing demand from processors and retailers for packaging that performs under real-world conditions while meeting tightening sustainability expectations.
