WAYNE, PASaothair Capital Partners, LLC has completed its acquisition of GatesAir, Inc., a century-old leader in wireless broadcast and public safety communications technology, through a newly formed affiliate. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1922, GatesAir designs, manufactures, and installs equipment used in over-the-air content delivery for television, radio, and emergency communications. The company serves broadcasters worldwide and operates from its headquarters in Mason, Ohio, with production facilities in Quincy, Illinois, and Brescia, Italy. Barbara Spicek will remain as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Kevin Madden, Saothair’s co-founder and managing partner, said the firm plans to leverage GatesAir’s long-standing reputation to drive global expansion and product diversification. “GatesAir holds a strong and enduring position in the global broadcast industry, built on a century of innovation and reliability,” he said. “We are excited to partner with Barbara and her talented team to further scale the business and expand its geographic presence.”

Saothair co-founder and operating partner Richard Lozyniak emphasized that GatesAir’s customer-first approach has been central to its international success. “We look forward to building on that foundation of trust while investing in the next phase of growth,” he said.

Spicek described the acquisition as an opportunity to accelerate the company’s evolution. “Saothair’s partnership empowers us to accelerate innovation, bolster customer support, and deliver the breakthrough technologies that will define the future of over-the-air content delivery,” she said.

The transaction reflects continued private equity interest in communications and infrastructure technology, particularly as global broadcasters adapt to next-generation transmission standards and digital transformation. Industry analysts note that investments in broadcast and public safety networks remain vital as demand for reliable, high-capacity wireless systems increases worldwide.

Legal counsel for Saothair was provided by McGuireWoods LLP. GatesAir was represented by Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, with GLC Advisors & Co., LLC serving as financial advisor.
