WAYNE, PA — Radian Group Inc. (NYSE: RDN) said it has secured all required regulatory approvals for its planned acquisition of Inigo Limited, clearing a key hurdle in a deal that would accelerate the company’s push beyond U.S. mortgage insurance into global specialty markets.
The transaction, which remains subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close in February 2026. Once completed, Inigo will operate as a Radian business unit while retaining its underwriting presence in London through Lloyd’s of London.
Radian said the acquisition represents a strategic shift in its long-term growth plan, repositioning the company from a predominantly U.S.-focused mortgage insurer into a diversified, multi-line specialty insurance group. The move is also intended to broaden Radian’s product capabilities and deploy excess capital into higher-growth global insurance segments.
Inigo underwrites a multi-class specialty insurance and reinsurance portfolio through Lloyd’s Syndicate 1301, serving large commercial and industrial clients worldwide. Founded in 2020, the firm has built its underwriting model around data-driven risk assessment and specialty market expertise.
Radian executives said the combination brings together Radian’s balance sheet strength, risk-management capabilities, and operational scale with Inigo’s specialty underwriting experience and market positioning within Lloyd’s. Maintaining Inigo’s London footprint is expected to preserve its access to global specialty risks while benefiting from Radian’s financial backing.
The acquisition reflects a broader trend among insurers seeking diversification as mortgage and housing-related businesses face cyclical pressures and tighter capital requirements. For Radian, the deal signals a decisive step toward building a more globally balanced insurance platform with exposure beyond U.S. housing finance.
Radian said additional details on integration and future growth plans will follow closer to the transaction’s closing.
