CLEARWATER, FL & DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Decks & Docks Company has acquired Service Wholesale, Inc. (SWI), a Chester County-based distributor of building and remodeling materials, marking the specialty distributor’s entry into Pennsylvania and broadening its portfolio to include roofing and siding products.

SWI, founded in 1987 and family-owned since 1995, serves contractors, deck builders, and remodelers across the region with a wide range of building products, including composite decking, fencing, roofing, and siding. Under the new ownership, SWI will operate as Decks & Docks Company, with its existing employees continuing in their roles.

“We have long been impressed with SWI and the business Eric and Matt have built over the years,” said Shawn Roberts, CEO of Decks & Docks. “Their addition further solidifies our position in the Mid-Atlantic and will allow us to better service contractor customers in Pennsylvania.”

Brothers Eric and Matthew Schmidt have led SWI since 2009, succeeding their father, Stephen Schmidt. In a joint statement, they emphasized alignment of values between the two companies. “As a family business, we wanted to find a partner who shared our deep commitment to service with integrity, and we have found that with Decks & Docks. This transaction is an important milestone for our company, and we are excited to work with the Decks & Docks team as we continue to expand our product offering and provide outstanding customer service,” they said.

For Decks & Docks, the acquisition enhances its regional footprint while extending its reach into adjacent product categories. “In addition to SWI’s position as one of the largest independent distributors of composite decking in the region, their expertise in the highly attractive roofing and siding sectors is a logical expansion of our capabilities,” said Tyler Wallace, president of Decks & Docks.

The acquisition reflects Decks & Docks’ strategy to grow its specialty distribution platform by combining geographic expansion with product line diversification. With the deal, the company strengthens its Mid-Atlantic presence while reinforcing its role as a leading supplier to the outdoor living and construction markets.
