AMETEK Finalizes $920 Million Acquisition of FARO Technologies

BERWYN, PA — AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME) has officially completed its acquisition of FARO Technologies, Inc. in a deal valued at approximately $920 million in cash, net of cash acquired. The transaction, which was approved by FARO shareholders and cleared by regulators, involved a purchase price of $44.00 per share. As a result, FARO’s common stock has been removed from the Nasdaq exchange.

FARO Technologies, a leader in 3D metrology and digital reality solutions, is now part of AMETEK’s Ultra Precision Technologies Division within its Electronic Instruments Group. The Florida-based company brings a portfolio that includes portable measurement arms, laser scanners and trackers, advanced software, and a full range of service offerings. These technologies support applications in precision manufacturing, architecture, engineering, and construction, among other fields.

With annual sales of around $340 million, FARO is expected to strengthen AMETEK’s position in the high-growth, precision measurement market. AMETEK Chairman and CEO David A. Zapico described the acquisition as “highly strategic,” emphasizing how FARO’s offerings complement AMETEK’s existing technologies and expand its reach into attractive new markets.

The acquisition aligns with AMETEK’s ongoing strategy of acquiring businesses with differentiated technology and strong market positions.
