KENNETT SQUARE, PA — LTC ACO has reported one of the strongest performances in the nation under Medicare’s Shared Savings Program, ranking third in savings per beneficiary and earning the highest quality scores in its reporting category during the 2024 performance year.
The organization generated more than $66.2 million in savings, resulting in $48.7 million in earned performance payments. Since joining the program in 2018, LTC ACO has achieved over $198 million in total savings, with roughly $140 million returned in performance payments. That record has made it one of the most consistent and successful accountable care organizations (ACOs) in the country for providers serving long-term care patients.
“We are extremely proud that LTC ACO and our participating practices ranked among the top three ACOs in savings per beneficiary out of more than 470 ACOs across the country, while also achieving year-over-year gains in quality performance,” said Al Shaine, president of LTC ACO. “Our results in 2024 reflect the dedication of our providers and the strength of our model.”
Now in its 11th year of participation in the Medicare program, LTC ACO continues to expand. The organization expects to add more than 20 new practice groups by the 2026 performance year, building on steady growth in the number of primary care practices operating in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
To manage that growth, the company is investing in leadership and infrastructure. It recently appointed Brittain Brantley as chief operating officer, bringing extensive executive experience in clinical operations and value-based care. New investments will also focus on technology, including predictive analytics and artificial intelligence to identify at-risk patients and deliver timely interventions.
Officials say these tools are central to LTC ACO’s strategy of improving patient outcomes while reducing costs, giving partner practices the insights needed to provide more proactive care. With another year of top-tier results, the organization has reinforced its reputation as a national leader in long-term care accountability and quality.
