Kennett Square Pharmacy Earns NABP Accreditation

Boothwyn Pharmacy

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Boothwyn Pharmacy has earned full accreditation under the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy’s Verified Pharmacy Program following a multi-day inspection of its operations and quality systems, the pharmacy announced.

The voluntary accreditation program evaluates compliance with pharmacy standards and is used by state boards of pharmacy to assess licensure eligibility and compounding practices.

According to the company, NABP surveyors reviewed policies and procedures, equipment and records, observed live compounding activities and examined personnel licensure and training. The inspection also assessed compliance with United States Pharmacopeia standards <795>, <797> and <800>, which govern non-sterile and sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling.

“This inspection represents a critical external validation for the technologically advanced, high-quality, tightly controlled, and safe pharmacy processes we use,” Regulatory Affairs Officer Adonis Ducre said in a statement. “NABP’s Verified Pharmacy Program is one of the most comprehensive evaluations a pharmacy can undergo.”

Boothwyn Pharmacy, founded in 1933, prepares customized medications for human and animal patients and produces both sterile and non-sterile formulations. The pharmacy serves patients locally and nationwide from its Pennsylvania location.
