WEST GROVE, PA — Jenner’s Pond, a Life Plan Community in Chester County, announced the introduction of newly designed cottages intended for residents age 62 and older seeking larger independent living options.

The cottages offer up to 3,600 square feet of living space and are part of the community’s independent living offerings, according to the organization.

Community officials said the homes are designed for residents who want private housing while maintaining access to services and amenities available on the campus.

The community includes an 88-acre campus with walking paths, nature trails, ponds, and apartment-style residences with one- and two-bedroom units.

Jenner’s Pond is located near outdoor attractions including Longwood Gardens and Brandywine Valley golf courses and is adjacent to a YMCA that offers lap swimming and fitness classes.

Brandon Logsdon, executive director of Jenner’s Pond, said social engagement is a central feature of the community.

“Socialization is at the forefront at Jenner’s Pond with over 30 resident-led groups, and countless ways to stay engaged,” Logsdon said.

Residents also participate in events such as live music, trivia nights, and gatherings at Morrie’s Pub, a resident-run space on the campus, according to the community.

Officials said the cottages may include features such as attached garages, patios, gardening space, and in some cases basements.

Residents can select model homes or customize unfinished interiors, the organization said.

As a Life Plan Community, Jenner’s Pond offers residents access to additional levels of care, including assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and memory care.

Jenner’s Pond is part of Simpson, a nonprofit senior services organization that operates several continuing care retirement communities and affordable senior housing properties in the Philadelphia region.

Founded in 1865, Simpson operates Jenner’s Pond, Simpson House, and Simpson Meadows continuing care retirement communities, as well as several affordable housing communities and home care services.
