MALVERN, PA — The Institutes RiskStream Collaborative announced the recipients of its 2025 Innovator Award, recognizing 24 insurance organizations for their leadership in advancing artificial intelligence and shaping the industry’s emerging approach to intelligent, data-driven solutions.
The annual award honors organizations that played a central role in guiding RiskStream’s AI Council, a cross-industry body formed to explore how artificial intelligence can be responsibly and effectively applied across the insurance ecosystem. The council brings together insurers, brokers, reinsurers, and technology leaders to address operational use cases, regulatory considerations, and best practices as AI adoption accelerates.
RiskStream said the AI Council’s inaugural meeting in 2025 marked a turning point for the industry, signaling a move toward more coordinated collaboration on how AI can transform underwriting, claims, risk assessment, and customer experience while maintaining trust and governance.
The 2025 Innovator Award recognizes organizations that demonstrated leadership and vision through active participation in the council’s first year and a commitment to partnership as the industry navigates rapid technological change.
This year’s honorees include Allstate Insurance Company, Aon, Auto Club Enterprises, Chubb, CRC, CSAA Insurance Group, CNA, Everest Global, Farmers, F&G, Frankenmuth Insurance, GEICO, Horace Mann, IMA Financial Group, Liberty Mutual, Marsh McLennan, Munich Re, Nationwide, The Cincinnati Insurance Companies, The Hartford, Tokio Marine HCC, USAA, Westfield, and W.R. Berkley.
F&G Vice President of AI Strategy Ryan Atkins said the recognition reflects how insurers are applying safe and sustainable AI capabilities to real business challenges, adding that collaboration through the AI Council is becoming increasingly critical as adoption expands across the industry.
Horace Mann Chief Information Officer Stephanie Fulks said the company is focused on using artificial intelligence to improve outcomes for educators and families, noting that collaboration within the council helps guide the industry toward a more connected future.
IMA Financial Group Senior Vice President Garrett Droege said artificial intelligence represents a profound shift for the insurance sector and the broader economy, adding that sharing best practices through RiskStream allows participants to move forward collectively rather than in isolation.
RiskStream said its annual awards program is designed to highlight organizations delivering meaningful impact through collaboration and innovation, as insurers increasingly turn to AI to modernize operations and respond to rising competitive and regulatory pressures.
