Inside the High-Stakes Global Forum Redefining Endovascular Medicine

MALVERN, PA — More than 2,000 physicians, researchers, and medical technology specialists from 70 countries will converge in Leipzig, Germany, from January 27 through January 30 for LINC 2026, a four-day event positioning itself at the intersection of advanced medicine, global collaboration, and high-impact clinical education.

Known formally as the Leipzig Interventional Course, LINC has built its reputation on an ambitious and technically demanding format: live endovascular procedures streamed in real time from operating rooms around the world. At the 2026 gathering, more than 50 procedures will be broadcast from leading centers in Germany, the United States, China, France, Italy, Japan, Ireland, and Austria, allowing attendees to observe complex interventions as they unfold.

Unlike traditional medical conferences built around slide presentations, LINC’s live cases expose participants to real-world decision-making. Physicians watch experts select devices, manage complications, and adjust strategies under real clinical conditions, with continuous commentary and direct audience interaction. The format is designed to shorten the distance between innovation and practice, a priority as endovascular medicine evolves at a rapid pace.

Organizers say the event’s global scope reflects both the maturity and the urgency of the field. Cardiologists, radiologists, surgeons, and angiologists increasingly work across traditional boundaries, driven by new technologies and a growing demand for minimally invasive solutions to vascular disease. LINC’s interdisciplinary approach aims to mirror that reality.

“The live cases are where collaboration truly comes to life,” said Professor Dierk Scheinert, MD, co-founder of LINC and head of the Department of Angiology at the University of Leipzig Medical Center. He said the meeting was created to break down institutional and geographic silos and allow physicians to learn directly from one another in real time.

For 2026, LINC is expanding its focus on workforce development with new education tracks aimed at early-career interventionalists. A new “Learning the Techniques” live case series will walk participants step by step through full procedures, while an expanded Learning Center will offer hands-on workshops in small-group settings focused on emerging devices and complex lesion strategies.

Those additions reflect a broader shift in medical education toward experiential learning. As health systems face cost pressures and rising procedural complexity, physicians are increasingly seeking training that delivers immediate clinical value rather than theoretical insight alone.

From a business perspective, LINC has become a significant platform for showcasing new technologies and procedural approaches in front of a highly specialized global audience. Device manufacturers and health care innovators gain exposure in a setting where adoption decisions are often shaped, not months later, but during live discussion at the point of care.

Organizers say the appeal of LINC lies in its intensity and relevance. The program blends live cases, expert panels, and late-breaking clinical data into a single, tightly integrated experience designed to influence how vascular medicine is practiced worldwide.

LINC 2026 will take place January 27–30 in Leipzig, Germany. Registration information and event details are available through HMP Global Events, with reduced registration rates available until December 12, 2025.
