EXTON, PA — Innovative Aerosystems Inc. (Nasdaq: ISSC) has acquired an exclusive perpetual license and related assets from Honeywell International Inc. (Nasdaq: HON) covering aircraft power generator systems used in commercial and defense platforms.
The agreement includes intellectual property, customer contracts, OEM and aftermarket production and repair rights, and program assets tied to Honeywell power generator systems.
Innovative Aerosystems said it also acquired specialized tooling, testing equipment, and technical data needed to support Power Generators and Generator Control Units installed on Boeing 767 passenger and freighter aircraft, the KC-46 aerial refueling tanker, and the F-15 fighter platform.
Power Generators and Generator Control Units are responsible for producing and managing onboard electrical power, including maintaining stable supply, balancing loads, and protecting avionics and other aircraft systems from disruptions.
Chief Executive Officer Shahram Askarpour said the acquisition expands the company’s capabilities in aircraft electrical power generation and aligns with its strategy to support both commercial and defense operators over the lifecycle of their systems.
“These systems play a critical role in delivering stable electrical power to avionics, flight controls, communications, and other essential onboard systems,” Askarpour said.
The transaction broadens Innovative Aerosystems’ presence across commercial transport and defense fleets and is expected to support long-term sustainment, engineering services, and parts supply for operators worldwide.
The company said it plans to maintain support continuity for existing operators while using its engineering, manufacturing, and certification capabilities to improve repair responsiveness and explore modernization efforts.
Innovative Aerosystems, headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, develops and supplies avionics systems for commercial, business, and military aviation, including navigation systems, flight controls, mission computing, and electrical power systems.
