Guardian Capital Takes Majority Stake in Raptor Power Systems Amid Data Center Boom

Guardian Capital Partners

WAYNE, PAGuardian Capital Partners has completed a majority recapitalization of Raptor Power Systems, a manufacturer of engineered power distribution products used in data centers and other mission-critical environments. The deal positions the Illinois-based company to expand production and meet growing demand for reliable, scalable power infrastructure fueled by rising data volumes and accelerating AI deployment.

The transaction pairs Guardian with EA Advisors, a private investment firm led by industry veteran Alexis Stobbe, along with Raptor’s founding family, Peter and Evan El Koury. The partnership aims to support the company’s next phase of growth as data center operators pursue gigawatt-scale buildouts across the United States.

Founded in 1992, Raptor operates two U.S. facilities, including its recently completed Champaign, Illinois headquarters and advanced manufacturing site. The company provides power distribution units, remote power panels, cabling and switchgear, backed by engineering expertise that allows it to deliver OEM-agnostic solutions tailored to complex power environments.

CEO Evan El Koury said the investment arrives at a critical moment as the company’s customer base expands rapidly. Founder and advisor Peter El Koury said he is proud of the company’s trajectory and confident the new ownership structure will help advance Raptor’s long-term strategy.

Stobbe noted that Raptor’s ability to deliver high-quality, scalable products—paired with its technical depth—sets it apart in a market facing unprecedented infrastructure demands. Guardian executives echoed that view. Scott Evans, the firm’s co-founder and managing partner, said Raptor is well-aligned with the needs of hyperscale and enterprise data centers as they respond to AI-driven compute requirements.

Damien Gresko, partner at Guardian, said the convergence of data growth and power infrastructure investment presents one of the most attractive themes in the market today, adding that the firm looks forward to helping execute Raptor’s expansion plan.

Goodwin Procter advised Guardian on the transaction, while Holland & Knight served as legal counsel to EA Advisors.
