Freedom Village Earns Coveted Spot on U.S. News’ 2026 Best List

Freedom Village at Brandywine

WEST BRANDYWINE, PAFreedom Village at Brandywine has been named one of the nation’s Best Nursing Homes for 2026, earning U.S. News & World Report’s highest “High Performance” designation in both Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care — an honor reserved for fewer than one in five facilities evaluated nationwide.

The recognition places the West Brandywine retirement community among Pennsylvania’s top performers in senior care, based on a rigorous, data-driven review of patient outcomes, staffing levels, inspections, and safety measures.

“It’s a privilege to care for our residents every day,” said Executive Director Danielle Geyer. “This award honors the meaningful relationships we build and the compassionate care our team provides.”

U.S. News analyzed nearly 15,000 nursing homes for its 2026 rankings. Only about 19% qualified as “Best Nursing Homes,” meeting high standards for clinical quality and resident well-being. This year’s methodology expanded to 17 quality measures each for Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care, offering one of the most comprehensive assessments to date.

“U.S. News’ annual Best Nursing Homes ratings are designed to place the needs of patients and residents at the center of the selection process,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis. He said the ratings aim to give families clear, fact-based guidance during critical care decisions.
