TELA Bio Posts Double-Digit Revenue Growth, Expands Product Reach in Q2

TELA Bio

MALVERN, PATELA Bio, Inc. (NASDAQ: TELA) reported a strong second quarter for 2025, delivering $20.2 million in revenue, up 26% from the same period last year and 9% from the previous quarter. The growth was driven by higher demand for its OviTex® and OviTex PRS Reinforced Tissue Matrix products, which saw revenue gains of approximately 12% and 53% year-over-year, respectively.

The company also marked a significant milestone with the European commercial launch of OviTex Inguinal for robotic and laparoscopic hernia repair, further strengthening its international presence. Leadership was bolstered in June with the appointment of Jeffrey Blizard as president, a move aimed at enhancing sales execution and accelerating growth.

CEO and co-founder Antony Koblish described TELA as being at a “pivotal inflection point,” citing an innovative product portfolio, robust clinical data, and a refined sales strategy as drivers of future momentum. Under Blizard’s leadership, the company is focusing on territory management, strategic resource allocation, medical education, and market access initiatives to support long-term expansion.

Gross profit for the quarter rose to $14.1 million, or 69.8% of revenue, up from $11.1 million, or 68.8%, in the prior year. Operating expenses increased slightly to $23.2 million, reflecting higher commissions, research costs, and professional fees, offset in part by lower staffing costs from efficiency measures.

Reaffirming its outlook, TELA expects 2025 revenue between $85 million and $88 million, representing annual growth of 23% to 27%.
