BERWYN, PA — McAndrews Law Offices is entering 2026 with a major leadership transition, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for one of the region’s most prominent education law firms.
The firm announced that Chief Executive Officer Katie Ryan retired from her position on December 31, 2025, concluding an eight-year tenure that guided McAndrews Law through sweeping changes in the legal and technological landscape. Ryan will remain with the firm in an of counsel role as the new year begins.
During her time as CEO, Ryan led the firm through the COVID-19 pandemic, significant shifts in education and disability law, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence and advanced technology on legal practice. Firm leaders credited her with steady leadership, strategic insight, and a consistent focus on professionalism and integrity.
On January 1, 2026, Michael Connolly assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. Connolly previously served as supervising partner for the firm’s Special Education practice, which McAndrews describes as the largest and most experienced special education legal team of its kind in the nation.
Connolly has built his reputation handling complex special education matters while maintaining a substantial caseload. Firm shareholders unanimously endorsed his appointment, citing his leadership, legal expertise, and long-standing commitment to the firm’s mission.
McAndrews Law Offices, headquartered at 30 Cassatt Avenue in Berwyn, said the transition ensures continuity as the firm moves forward, blending Ryan’s continued involvement with Connolly’s leadership at a time of ongoing change in education law and advocacy.
