ICYMI: Citadel Credit Union Promotes Eric Skinner to Chief Information Officer

Citadel Credit Union

EXTON, PACitadel Credit Union has named Eric Skinner as its next chief information officer, succeeding Brian Berry, who will retire later this year after 16 years of leadership that helped shape the credit union’s digital and cybersecurity foundation.

Skinner, who joined Citadel in 2013, has been central to the institution’s technology transformation over the past decade. With more than 20 years in financial services, he has overseen initiatives spanning business systems, telecommunications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, all aimed at scaling operations while strengthening member experience and data protection.

Among his earliest achievements at Citadel was leading a full core system conversion in his first year—an ambitious project that set the stage for broader modernization of the credit union’s IT operations. Since then, he has directed efforts to improve efficiency, expand digital channels, and enhance cybersecurity protocols to support Citadel’s growing membership base.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside Eric over the years and to see firsthand his commitment to our organization, our members, and our team,” said Berry. “I can’t think of a better leader to take the reins, and I look forward to seeing how he continues to build on the momentum we’ve created together.”

In his new role, Skinner will oversee enterprise technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and payment solutions, ensuring Citadel’s digital platforms remain resilient and member-focused.

“Eric’s track record of execution and vision for scalable, member-first technology makes him the ideal leader to shape Citadel’s digital future,” said Bill Brown, president and CEO of Citadel Credit Union. “This transition also reflects the deep bench of talent and mentorship that has become a hallmark of our organization.”

Beyond his work at Citadel, Skinner serves on the Symitar Advisory Board for banking technology provider Jack Henry and is an active volunteer with the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation, reflecting his commitment to both industry advancement and community service.

His appointment signals Citadel’s continued investment in digital innovation as competition among financial institutions increasingly centers on technology-driven service and security.
