EXTON, PACitadel Credit Union has promoted Eric Skinner to Chief Information Officer, succeeding Brian Berry, who will retire later this year after 16 years of steering the credit union’s technology strategy and laying the foundation for its secure, member-focused digital operations.

Skinner, a veteran of more than 20 years in financial services, has been part of Citadel’s leadership team since 2013. He began his career as a programmer at a Georgia-based credit union before moving to a service organization where he led the migration of nearly 2,000 institutions to a new shared payments platform. At Citadel, Skinner quickly made an impact by overseeing a full core system conversion in his first year, a pivotal upgrade that accelerated the modernization of the credit union’s IT infrastructure.

Outgoing CIO Brian Berry praised his successor, saying, “It’s been a privilege to work alongside Eric over the years and to see firsthand his commitment to our organization, our members, and our team. I can’t think of a better leader to take the reins.”

In his new role, Skinner will lead Citadel’s enterprise technology strategy, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, and payment solutions. President and CEO Bill Brown called him “the ideal leader to shape Citadel’s digital future,” noting that the promotion reflects the organization’s long-standing focus on cultivating leadership talent.
