Endo Launches National Hand Health Month to Spotlight Dupuytren’s Contracture Awareness

Endo

MALVERN, PAEndo, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mallinckrodt plc, has announced the launch of National Hand Health Month, taking place throughout September. The initiative is intended to raise awareness about the importance of hand health and highlight treatment options for conditions such as Dupuytren’s contracture.

The campaign will feature patient stories, including individuals treated with XIAFLEX® (collagenase clostridium histolyticum), currently the only nonsurgical treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for Dupuytren’s contracture when a palpable cord is present.

“During Hand Health Month, we have a powerful opportunity to raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations and empower patients to take control of their hand health,” said Stephanie Wenstrup, executive director of orthopedics marketing at Endo.

As part of the observance, Endo will host a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session on Wednesday, September 17, at 3 p.m. ET, featuring Dr. Damon Adamany, an orthopedic hand specialist, and Steve Riden, a Dupuytren’s contracture patient. Participants will be able to submit questions about hand health and available treatment options.

“In my practice, I see many patients who have lived with the symptoms of Dupuytren’s contracture and other hand conditions unnecessarily, and I hope to encourage people to take action rather than accept limits,” Dr. Adamany said.

Endo also plans to expand outreach through digital and social media channels during September. The company is collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to share educational materials aimed at increasing public awareness of Dupuytren’s contracture and encouraging individuals to seek professional evaluation when symptoms appear.
