EXTON, PA — The West Whiteland Police Department has announced it is accepting applications for full-time police officer positions, offering a competitive starting salary of $86,000 and top pay exceeding $142,000 after six years. Applications are open until May 30, 2025.
Serving a population of approximately 20,000 residents across 14 square miles, the department boasts 29 full-time officers and two civilian staff members. Officers handle a wide range of responsibilities, responding to over 15,000 calls for service annually and tackling tasks such as patrol, traffic safety, criminal investigations, SWAT operations, and community-focused policing programs.
Applicants must meet several prerequisites, including U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, and ACT 120 certification from the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC). Candidates currently enrolled in a police academy must successfully complete their certification process before appointment. Additionally, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is required, and applicants must pass physical fitness tests, panel interviews, background investigations, and other assessments throughout the hiring process.
